Darlene A. Dartt


Darlene A. Dartt, Ph.D. is a Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at Harvard Medical School and Senior Scientist and Margaret S. Sinon Research Scholar at Schepens Eye Research Institute/Massachusetts Eye and Ear. She was Director of Research at Schepens Eye Research Institute for ten years. Dartt served on the National (US) Eye Institute Program Planning Panel and is a Gold Fellow of the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO). Dartt has close to 200 peer-reviewed publications and her research has been continuously funded by the National (US) Eye Institute since 1980. She has received a number of research awards and holds several patents related to dry eye disease. Dartt served as Vice-President for North America for the International Society for Eye Research and serves as a Vice-president for the International Society for Contact Lens Wear. She chaired the 2016 Cornea, Biology and Pathobiology, Gordon Research Conference. She served on the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Study Section Diseases and Pathology of the Visual System (DPVS), is on the Editorial Board of several scientific journals and was Editor-In-Chief for the Encyclopedia of the Eye.
